sorry ah... ask about the lens... hahah..

is the bokeh good when shooting macros, at... maybe wide open aperture? what's the largest aperture anyway...?

cos honestly i am considering the 100mm f2.8 USM Canon lens.... was thinking about tamron too...

Sorry bloodrush, I don’t know.

I pay very little attention on bokeh. Not sure how you mean "good".To me it is just blur background. Getting the subject in focus already can kill me.
Image 10, 11 and 13 should give you an idea. For spider and small insect, I usually will shoot at F8 and above with flash. “Bokeh” are usually there for me when the “distance” is right. I will only shoot at wide aperture if there is not enough light and I don’t have my flash with me.

But canon is good la! An extra 10mm. Go get it!

The USM on the Canon might be good if u r using AF. The Tamron hunts like no tomorrow when doing AF but for that price it's a superb lens. Just remember buy Unker Doublechin some rice and he will tell u all his super secrets of doing awesome macro shots.

thanks... got free goldfishes to go along with? =D

hahaha

oh so the tamron has a AF prob... thanks for informing me on that ndroo XD and i understand how it is to shoot macro especially when wide open... just want a nice natural bokeh... carl zeiss jena's bokeh i think personally is the most jude around hahah.

eh but anyway... thanks to the japanese yen... the 100mm USM f2.8 has climbed a good $150... sighs.

No no no! It has no AF problem. It's just that the AF hunts quite a bit sometimes and probably part of the characteristics of that lens. Well you get what you pay for. The Tamron is one hell of a good macro lens.

yeah i get what you mean by hunting... bad phrasing on me hahah...

i hate it when it hunts... the tamron 18-200mm hunts like mad even in moderate light. but the body affects the AF efficiency too that gotta consider.
