hihi

i am new to lomography, film and of course my new lubitel 166+

I bought a normal 35mm film to start it off but i am unable to shoot pass 26 shots cos the film is already at the end.

I dun remember overspooling the film at the start.

Is this normal or am i doing something wrong?

any advice is appreciated

thanks!!!

Erm... you using Lubitel 166+ with the 35mm "kit" I suppose??

Though I don't have a Lubitel 166+ but if I am not mistaken, the "frame" is bigger than the standard 35mm format of 24X36.

The Lubitel 166+ should be ... 58X33 ?

So, it's wider (includes sprockets) and taller? which means less shots per roll?? Cos the exp on the film rolls are counted by the 24X36 I think...

166+ with the 35mm lubikin kit shoots in a longer panoramic format (its actually the length of shooting 120 film in 6X6 square format.) its quite normal to get 26 shots instead of the usual 36.

so, no worries. cool that you bought a 166+ as a first camera. hefty price. anyhow, get yourself a light meter for it. the 166+ has a nice lens

Nice =) been a while since i last used my 166+.

Reason I suggest a light meter is cuz the 166+ is a full manual camera. So you have the flexibility of setting aperture and shutter speed. The light meter will help you in doing it.

If you have an iphone, there are free light meter apps available. Personally feel they are pretty good.
