I've a K1000... It's a Pentax K mount (or bayonet mount)... If U wanna use other lens like Nikon/Canon lens, U will need to get adapters to use it...

Does your purchase of the K1000 come with any lens at all??

I've a Pentax-SMC M 50mm and 135mm for my K1000 Love those prime lens

Cool, that's a nice lens and it's really "slim"

Anyway, no it doesn't work that way...

Like, lens made for K1000 has a K mount, lens for the Canon system... like say AE-1 etc.. is FD mount. Or the newer ones like EOS system I think it's EF mount?, then for Nikon, it's something else....

So if you have a Canon FD lens, and U wanna use on your K1000, then I think you need to find an adapter suited for FD lens to convert it to a K mount for your K1000 body...

I hope I am making sense and I didn't get my facts wrong... If anyone else is more knowledgable in this, please correct me if I am wrong.

Cheers
